"European Youth Folkloriad 2007"

The “European Youth Folkloriad 2007" will be held within the scope of “Euro Folk 2007” Musical Feasts - The world is television, which is in different European cities and countries from 3 May till 21 October 2007. Musical Feasts “Euro Folk 2007” comprise fifteen musical festivals and are held under the aegis of European Association of Folklore Festivals - EAFF.
Main event of the Musical Feasts “Euro Folk 2007” is Festival No 1 in Europe of the traditional folk arts – Stara Planina Fest “Balkan Folk”. Every year in the Festival participate from 10 000 to 15 000 musicians, singers and dancers.
Typical feature of Musical Feasts “Euro Folk 2007” is, that all performances are recorded with professional audio and television technics and the best of them will be repeatedly broadcasted by 50 cable televisions in Bulgaria and by the satelite and national cable televisions "Eurocom Bulgaria" and "Heros TV", as well as by the World Wide Internet Television "Euro Folk" at www.eurofolk.com/tv. All this activities realize the main purpose of Musical Feasts “Euro Folk 2007” – The world is television to make the traditional folk arts popular through the mass media.
Preliminary Program
The fest program includes competitions in the following categories:
- folk songs;
- folk dances;
- folk ensembles;
- folk customs;
- popular and variety songs;
- classical music and songs;
- all the categories are divided in ages:
- up to 16 years
- up to 21 years
- up to 16 years
The jury will have the right to ask for partial performance and to interrupt it, if it exceeds the prescribed time limits. Participants, however, must be prepared, if requested, to perform the program in its entirety.
The audition will last 30 minutes.
During the Folkloriad studio audio recordings and filming of professional video clips of the participants' program will be done free of charge of those performances awarded by the jury or against payment.
The program must not exceed 40 minutes.
It is recommendable that participants should consider 7 days stay in order to make audio recordings and video clips of high quality.
The made recordings will be broadcasted by 50 Bulgarian cable televisions and by satellite televisions with European holding, as well as on Internet television "Euro Folk".
During their participation in the Folkloriad the group could be invited by the organizers to take part in the common events - official opening, official closing, parade, cocktail or others.
Awards
Grand-Prix “Orpheus” and a diploma. The award is decided by the jury in accordance with the procedures, set by the members before the opening of the festival and announced to the entrants on the opening day.
The cultural organizations, which collectives has best performance in each shift will be granted with a special award “Euro Folk”, a diplom and free of charge individual TV film for the Folkloriad and the performances of their collective. The TV film owes the right to be broadcasted.
First awards "Orpheus" and a diploma in each category. The awards are decided by the jury in accordance with the procedures, set by the members before the opening of the festival and announced to the entrants on the opening day.
The jury awards the best performances with a free of charge shooting and producing of a free video clip.
All award winners /participants in the second round/ are granted with a diploma as laureates of "Euro Folk 2007". The awards are granted on ceremonies during "Euro Folk 2007" Musical Feasts - The world is television.

In the opinion of the jury and the producers the best performers and artistic leaders shall be honoured with a Diploma for obtaining the rank Maestro or Maestro Academic.
All award winners get a free of charge copy of the TV product, which consists their performances, and has been broadcasted in Bulgaria or in Europe, as well as on Internet television "Euro Folk".
Participants can order through payment the full recordings of their performances on compact disc, videocassette or DVD and video clips. These products will be with the right of broadcasting in the respective country.
Every group may order the date and the hour when their performance will be broadcasted on the World Wide Television "Euro Folk" at www.eurofolk.com/tv
Participants do not get paid for their performance.
The deadline for sending the application forms is 25.02.2007.
The jury is international and consists of 3 persons.
Unambiguous text: The artists or presenting organizations, if approved by the jury to participate in the fest, step back to the organizers the right to be recorded on video and audio, arranged in a program, presenting the fest and broadcasted by a TV channel or some other way, for which a contractual agreement will be signed.
Regulations
The "European Youth Fokloriad 2007" is held from 2nd to 16th of July. Main task of the organizers is to ensure the creative groups an access to the stage, to gather them in a concourse programme aimed at defining the best ones and to popularize the award winners of the fest by broadcasting their art in the European TV channels.
The minimum term for participation is 7 days.
The "European Youth Fokloriad 2007" is organized for he third time by Euro Folk Academy, Balkan Folk Academy, the Vacational town “Losenez” and other organizations within the scope of "Euro Folk 2007" Musical Feasts - The world is television, from 2nd to 16th of July 2007.
Host of the festival is the Vacational town “Losenez”, Bulgaria.
Regulations for participation in "European Youth Fokloriad 2007"
To enter the participants must be accredited, which is realized under the following conditions:
The organizers Euro Folk Academy send a letter and regulations for participation to interested groups.
Those who wish to take part in the Folkloriad must fill-in and sign application forms, by which they formally agree with the conditions laid by these Regulations.
The application forms should be sent not later than 15.02.2007.
The participants pay according to the given prices their participation in the “European Youth Folkloriad 2007". The advance payment is 20% of the whole amount for participation of the group. It should be payed until 15.03.2007.
This condition concerns the reservation in Vacational town “Losenez”.
It is desirable that the participants should send at the above-mentioned address of Euro Folk Academy the latest album of the artist /band/ or demo record of not less than two songs. Further to this it is recommended that the application form should be accompanied with annotation and promo-materials such as photos. All sent materials are not subject of return.
Registration of the participants
The registration accomplishes on the basis of sending a request for participation from the collective. After confirming the request the advanced payment should be made, which can be calculated in the following way:
If the group consists of 20 people, for instance, and they declare a participation, the whole amount for the group can be calculated like this:
20 people x 14 days x 17.90 Euro (average price) = 5012 Euro.
The advance payment is:
5012 Euro x 0.20 = 1028 Euro.
This amount should be deposited before 01.03.2007 (in EURO) at Bulgarian Post Bank - branch Veliko Tarnovo, IBAN: BG97BPBI79311047679001, S.W.I.F.T. BPBIBGSF to Euro Folk Academy Ltd. or by WESTERN UNION in the name of Kaloyan Nikolov with Personal Card Number 114176002. The rest of the amount should be payed on the arrival of the group when the exact amount according to age and lodging will be calculated.
The prices for lodging, which include the festival service are as follows:
Groups for July :
- Children up to 16 years - 15,90 Euro
- Youths up to 21 years - 17,90 Euro
- Adults with the group - 21 Euro
On every group of 20 children – 1 art director free of charge.
The minimum term to participate is 7 days.

All filled and signed applications will mean acceptance of the terms laid by the present regulations.
The registration of the participants at their arrival will be completed in the Vacational town “Losenez”.
